Basic Overview

Kot-aa is both a xenopaleontologist and a site manager at USAS, and serves as the boss of Temiraan and Alex. She's no-nonsense and straight to the point, with a bit of a temper that can flare from time to time. Kot-aa's interest in paleontology started in the mountain regions of her home, where she'd constantly dig up little fossils and shells and present them to her troupe. She even won a young paleontologist's award for some of her finds, one of which ended up in a museum as the best in-tact specimen to date. While she tries to come off as friendly but professional, her species' more social nature and ingrained sense of isolation from living on her own for so long have left her a little desperate to make actual friends, not just coworkers.

Luckily, Kot-aa is friends with both Alex and Temiraan.

Outside of work Kot-aa is an avid runner and hobbyist Tkee-ta player. She's also a competitive rock climber and one of the loudest martian advocates for adaptive roller-blading because it 'looks really fun' and she's disappointed that she can't find any skates that fit her comfortably.

Missing Home

Kot-aa currently lives on her own, an unusual situation for a member of her species given that the majority of them prefer communal housing with multiple generations in one place. Kot-aa left her troupe at age 16 to move to the Martian Nexus so she could pursue work without thinking about the long-term impacts, and is starting to feel them now. She still keeps up with frequent phone calls, texts, and other methods of communication, but has considered dropping her current job to move back home and work closer to family. Typically, though, she prefers to keep her mind away from the issue.
