Basic Overview

Alex is a recent university graduate working in the off-station/traveling archaeological group for the Martian Nexus Space Colony branch of USAS. She's laid back and level-headed in most situations, but loves a good party. Alex is often considered to be the 'voice of reason' that prevents Kot-aa and Temiraan from constantly being at each other's throats. Because of her upbringing on the Martian Nexus, Alex is well-adapted to a multi-sophont work and living environment, which gave her a leg up over Earth candidates when applying for her USAS job. Both in and out of her job, Alex is a major plant enthusiast, and leads a small botanist's club that primarily focuses on issues of Plant Awareness Disparity, especially in spacer communities, and introducing a wider variety of plants into artificial living spaces. Primarily, she uses her skills as a xenobotanist to attempt to figure out ways to get plants from different planets to co-exist without attempting to kill each other or dying suddenly.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys playing Warhammer 40k with Tem (though less than they do), reading and writing fanfiction, and crochet. She mostly enjoys activities she can listen to music in the background while doing, and has hours long playlists for this exact purpose. Alex also likes karaoke (even if she isn't that great at it).

Alex works with and is friends with Kot-aa and Temiraan. She's also friends with Reeva and his partner Dex, and continually tries to get Reeva to join her botanist's club to no avail. She works for Kot-aa at USAS.

You Can't Get Rid Of Me That Easily!

Alex has been friends with Temiraan since both of them were 12. She befriended them on their first day in class after getting into an argument with another student for picking on them (and subsequently going to detention for it). She effectively glued herself to them and refused to leave them to flounder around in a new environment on their own, and stuck by them all throughout highschool and into the modern day. She is inarguably closest to Temiraan out of all of her friends and coworkers.

Third Culture Kid

Alex was raised largely by her single Filipino father on the Martian Nexus, and as such picked up a lot of Martian culture, and lacks some portions of her Filipino culture. She still speaks enough Tagalog to communicate with her extended family back on earth, but can get a little lost during faster conversations, especially during laggy video calls.
